Scholarships Programme 2013
Te Pūtea Whakatupu Trust is proud to offer three exciting scholarships for 2013.
We present again the Tāwera Scholarship that is aimed at Māori undergraduate students enrolled fulltime in 2013 in a commerce, business, or management degree. Preference will be given to those students who: are in their last year or second to last year of study towards their bachelor degree; have proven academic merit; demonstrate a commitment to tikanga Māori and te reo Māori; demonstrate a commitment to Māori, iwi, and hapū economic development; are interested in building personal skills and expertise to support Māori economic and social development. Māori undergraduate students enrolled fulltime in 2013 in a commerce, business, or management degree.
The second is the Rona Scholarship aimed at Māori undergraduate and graduate students enrolled fulltime in 2013 in a fisheries, aquaculture or marine sciences degree. Preference will be given to those students who: are in their last year or second to last year of study towards their degree; have proven academic merit; have proven research experience; are involved in research with direct relevance and/or application to fisheries and aquaculture industries; demonstrate a commitment to tikanga Māori and te reo Māori; demonstrate a commitment to working in the seafood industry; and are interested in building personal skills and expertise to support Māori economic and social development.
In addition to these two scholarship categories, we are also proud be joined by our strategic partner the Federation of Māori Authorities and present the inaugural Whanui Scholarship that is aimed at Māori undergraduate and graduate students enrolled fulltime in 2013 in agriculture or agribusiness related degree. Preference will be given to those students who: are in their last year or second to last year of study towards their degree; have proven academic merit; have proven research experience; are involved in research with direct relevance and/or application to fisheries and aquaculture industries; demonstrate a commitment to tikanga Māori and te reo Māori; demonstrate a commitment to working in the seafood industry; and are interested in building personal skills and expertise to support Māori economic and social development.
